Hail

Where we came from
The firmament, the stars
Galactic explosions, a word
Divisible cells and catalysts
Delicately packed in neat parcels
Smiles and cardiac arrests

Inked our name to a register
Shouts of fanfare and lip service
Imitation, all decked up for display
Laces tied, hair combed, nails cut
March to the beat of expectations
Another upstanding addition

Risk is the ultimate aphrodisiac
Slight unease could work wonders
Setting off on a wild goose chase
Aware there’s no going back
Familiarity laid to rest
In collusion with the unknown
